Brian Shimer founded Lionhearted Ministries in 2020 after over 30 years of following Jesus in local church leadership. He has pastored four congregations and counseled many couples and individuals. Married to Karen for over 45 years, he’s also a dad and well-loved grandfather.

“You are lionhearted,” a pastor spoke over Brian decades ago, long before he felt anything but fear in his heart. Jesus used that word to call Brian to a deeper walk into the depths of pain associated with his own sexual abuse and the depths of mercy discovered in healing. Over the years of healing and bringing healing to others, Brian has discovered being “lionhearted” means being true to the person God intended him to be. He’s courageous in prayer, joyful in spirit and able to walk with you.

The Walk

Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity.

(1 Tim. 4: 12b)

Allean Stewart

There are seasons in life when the weight feels heavy—when grief lingers, relationships feel strained, or anxiety quietly steals your peace. In those times, having someone who listens with patience and genuine care can make all the difference.

Allean Stewart brings more than professional experience into the counseling room—she brings a lifetime of compassion. With over five decades in nursing and healthcare, she has walked with people through crisis, recovery, uncertainty, despair and hope. Her presence is calm, steady, and reassuring.

Her counseling approach blends sound psychological principles with Scripture, prayer, and spiritual encouragement. She creates space for honest conversation, thoughtful reflection, and practical next steps—always at a pace that feels respectful and supportive.

Allean’s warmth is deeply rooted in her life beyond her credentials. She is a devoted mother of two daughters, grandmother of ten, and great-grandmother of five. She has served on the board of a Christian nonprofit retreat ministry for decades, reflecting her lifelong commitment to faith and community.

She enjoys the quiet beauty of rural life, tending to farm animals and spending time outdoors—especially caring for her beloved goats. These simple joys reflect the grounded, peaceful spirit she brings into her counseling practice. Clients often say they feel immediately at ease in her presence.
